Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis: Embrace your Transformation

I have always been fascinated by butterflies. As a child, I would go to a nearby field, sit among the flowers, and wait patiently for butterflies, bees, and ladybirds to visit.

I was captivated by their grace, their beauty, and their delicate nature. Unlike my love for cats, whom I could touch and cuddle, my love for butterflies existed from a distance—I admired them without the need to possess them. They were not mine, yet I loved them all the same.

As the years passed, my fascination with butterflies never faded. During university, a classmate began calling me Butterfly, and soon, it became my nickname. It felt fitting in a way I couldn’t quite explain at the time.

Now, looking back, I understand it completely.

The Magic of Metamorphosis

I resonate deeply with the journey of the butterfly, with its transformation and rebirth.

Have you ever witnessed the process of metamorphosis? I have. Every summer, I raise butterflies and observe their extraordinary journey first hand.

It begins with a tiny egg, which hatches into a larva—a time of growth, nourishment, and preparation. When the caterpillar has eaten its fill and is ready for the next stage, it climbs to a safe place, spins itself into a cocoon, and then… the real transformation begins.

Inside the cocoon, there is complete chaos. The caterpillar dissolves, becoming an unrecognizable mush, using all its energy to rebuild itself into something new. There is no turning back. The only way forward is trust and surrender.

Then, from the chaos, the butterfly begins to take form—a body, legs, antennae, and finally, delicate wings. When the time is right, it emerges. At first, its wings are soft and crumpled, needing time to dry and strengthen.

And then, with courage, it soars into the world—a beauty born from destruction, patience, and trust.

Every time I witness this, I am in awe.

For a few days, I watch the butterflies as they grow stronger. Then, I take them to the park and set them free. Because that is what they are meant for—to fly, to explore, to live as they were always destined to.

My own Metamorphosis

I see my life as a series of metamorphoses—times of letting go, surrendering to change, and emerging anew.

Again and again, I have experienced deep transformations.

One of the most profound of these was when I embraced my work as a tantric masseuse. It was a journey that required me to release old identities, step into the unknown, and trust in my own becoming.

And I know this process will continue. For all of us, life is filled with cycles of transformation.

Each time we go through change, we shed the old, step into the unknown, and eventually emerge as something greater.

We open our wings to a new reality, a new life, a new version of ourselves.

So, when my therapist—who encouraged me to create this course—asked me what I wanted to name it, the answer was easy.

The courage to transform

Transformation isn’t always easy. It requires trust, patience, and the willingness to endure the chaos before the beauty emerges.

But it is always worth it.

Just like the caterpillar does not question its path, you, too, must trust that your transformation will lead you exactly where you are meant to be.

I hope you, too, find the courage to embrace your own metamorphosis—whatever that looks like for you.

It might be through the path of tantric massage, or it might be something entirely different.

Whatever feels true and right for you, is your metamorphosis.

The scene is illuminated by sparkling lights and a crescent moon in the night sky, with stars and mystical swirls surrounding them. One woman has her face turned slightly away, the other facing more directly, both with faceless features, and the signature 'Taru Ellis' is visible.

A world of Transformation

I dream of a world where we all have the courage to embrace our transformation.

Where we allow ourselves to dissolve and rebuild.

Where we emerge as graceful, radiant butterflies, flying high towards our dreams.
